Tip of the day #204 – ASP.NET MVC – Tired of the default blue design?

The official ASP.NET web site has a gallery of ready to use design packs especially for ASP.NET MVC applications. It’s a good start to improve the look and feel of your application.

How to apply

  • It’s pretty straightforward to apply a custom design to your ASP.NET MVC application. Visit the ASP.NET MVC Gallery by clicking here: MVC Gallery;
  • Choose the design that you want to use and download it;
  • Usually the design pack comes with a css file, images and the modified master page but there are some that contain html helpers for links and so on;
  • Overwrite the css and the master page file and check if there are additional contents such as images and helpers that must to be added.
